Building a PC on your own may be difficult for you but I do believe that you will find a lot of interesting things after you do it according to what I am going to show. The basic parts you need to build a PC on your own are: the motherboard, the processor, RAM, video card, case, power supply, hard drive, optical drive, keyboard, mouse, and speakers. Normally, before you do anything about computer, just remember one thing: “Safety first”. Because computer is a kind of electrical machine, you always need to ground yourself. There are two ways to protect your out of electricity; the first one is using a wrist strap and the second one is working on the ground surface but be sure that there is no static electricity in your body before you tough anything like CPU or motherboard. Now, take it easy. It’s not as difficult as you are thinking.
In the first step, what you need to do is adding the processor and RAM to motherboard. Remember that processor come with its own fan. As soon as aligning marked corners of processor and socket, you should put the chip into the spot in the socket. Don’t worry since the hole on the socket has already been there for you and you don’t need to take any pressure to set it in the place of level “on”. About the heat sink, this part is extremely important. When the machine is working, the heat little by little goes up. The very cooling fan will help to reduce heat to keep the machine running effectively. All you have to do with this fan is put it in position and then lock the little planches in both sides of the fan in the settle places. After that, bind its power connector with the motherboard. Now, what will I do with RAM? you may ask. After you look on the board and find the major mark, you stick the RAM into that socket with firm pressure. Two little locking in both ends of RAM will help to lock it in right positions. As a result, what you have now are motherboard with processor, cooling fan and RAM.
The second step that I want to show you are taking all these part and getting the motherboard inside the case. In addition, you need to have power supply and cover plate which comes with the motherboard. In this step, the first thing you need to do here is setting the cover plate into position. Like the RAM, it will be put in pressure and in fact, you will hear a click when it’s in right place. The next is the motherboard. Every motherboard is different. Therefore, your challenge here is in order to get the motherboard in the case, you have to look over which holes on the motherboard are going actually match up with the holes have already been on the case. When the motherboard is ready in place, it will be fixed by six little things called “standoffs”. Don’t be so tense, it’s very easy when you actually inside doing it. Regarding power supply, as soon as holding it in your hand, you should get two sides: fan side – you need to put this face towards out side the case and the other, wires side – inside the case. It’s not rather hard for you since there is only one way to put it in right position. Then, you use four screws to secure it. After that, look at the wires side, you can see a big obvious connector for the motherboard, another smaller four pin connector is supply power for CPU, both connectors will have obvious ports so you can fix them on your own easily. Next, the part that would make you confusing is the collection of fifteen wires but it’s really straightforward and the manual contains pages that clearly guild you how to do with these connections. The last thing you need to do in this step is connect case fans using available wires from power supply.
The last step you do inside the case is installing hard disk and installing CD drive. As for hard disk, look at the case and you can actually see a bracket which can be pulled out and it has four holes on the body of it. Then, you can use four special screws to place hard disk into appropriate slot. After that, the power connector in the power supply can be used to join with hard disk according to the available hole on it. Subsequently, hard disk and motherboard can be connected together by using supplied cable. You can see easily that one side on the cable is red stripe which is marked pin one and there is the same sign on the motherboard, they are fit with each other. And on the other side of IED slot will be mark as pin one and it’s fit with the hole available on the drive. Afterwards, you do the same thing with CD drive. The CD drive should be put in the front of the case. You have to make sure that the drive is aligned properly and put in right spot. Four screws will be used to settle it in the position. Then, supplied cable should be used to connect CD drive with the motherboard. Once again, put the end of red stripe marked pin one of cable in the motherboard, and the other end is placed on the back of the drive. The final thing you need to do inside the case is installing optional AGP video card. There is only one video slot on the motherboard so it’s not an arduous task for you. Now, all the physical materials are ready, in order to have fully functional machine, the next things you have to do are bios setting and installing operating system.
Building a PC is not quite simple but it’s also not really hard for you, is it? Do it on your own, there are a lot interesting things. Perhaps, you can realize that you are better and smarter than you think.
